Welcome to Ciara Ryan Nutritional Therapy & Health Coaching.

We specialize in helping women get their groove back. 

Meet Ciara

 My name is Ciara and I've been working as a nutritional therapist since 2012. I have helped countless women (and some men too!) over the years to achieve their health goals, clear unwanted symptoms and to shift stubborn weight.

I’ve always had an interest in nutrition and natural health and a redundancy during maternity leave on my first child gave me the perfect opportunity to return to study.  I never actually thought I would end up running my own business but here I am!

 

I am 46 years old and have 3 sons so with family and work life there isn’t a huge amount of spare time.  But I make sure that I make time to do some yoga for my mental as well as my physical health and I love walking in nature.

A cancer diagnosis recently really cemented for me how important it is for us women to take proper care of ourselves.  I am really big on women prioritizing themselves, their own needs and their own health.  You should not be at the bottom of your to-do list!

I love seeing the transformations with my clients and I get so excited when my clients feel empowered about making changes to their food and lifestyle.  I have a special interest in pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, digestive health and perimenopause.  I love running my online programmes which I do a few times a year and a working with companies on wellness programmes to improve the health of their employees.

I am a member of NTOI and undergo regular continuous professional development to keep on top of the fast moving pace of nutritional science.

Meet Johanne

I’m Johanne and I am passionate about helping my clients understand and address their health issues and to make changes to their food and lifestyle.  It is so fulfilling when clients get wonderful results such as improvements in their digestion, feeling more energized and sleeping better. 

When faced with a serious health challenge in 2012, I turned to nutrition to help me on the road to recovery and was amazed at the difference changing my diet made to my overall health.  I decided to leave 30 years of corporate employment behind and began my journey to become a nutritional therapist and I am so glad that I did.

I am a true foodie and in recent years I have discovered a love for gardening and I now grow a lot of my own vegetables.  I also love the art of fermentation and I have been known to knock out a great sourdough loaf as well as turning my hand to making sauerkraut, kimchi and kombucha.  I really enjoy giving food and cookery workshops and giving clients opportunities to taste and try new foods.

I have also taken to sea swimming recently and I love how this invigorates me and keeps me in the moment.

Digestive and hormonal health are my particular areas of expertise and I devour new areas of research on these topics to keep my knowledge up-to-date.  I am halfway through a menstrual health course with an emphasis on traditional Chinese medicine and I look forward to empowering my young female clients how to reduce their PMS symptoms and to understand how their menstrual cycle works.

I am a member of NTOI and I qualified in 2020.
